Introduction:
Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. This field first became an identifiable occupation in the later half of the 19th century after commercialization of the electric telegraph, the telephone, and electric power distribution and use. Subsequently, broadcasting and recording media made electronics part of daily life. The invention of the transistor, and later the integrated circuit, brought down the cost of electronics to the point they can be used in almost any household object.
Basic electrical quantities:
There are three basic electrical quantities.
1) Voltage
2) Current
3) Power
Voltage:
Voltage, also called electromotive force, is a quantitative expression of the potential difference in charge between two points in an electrical field. The voltage is measured in volts and its symbol is
V or E
Current:
Current is nothing but the flow of electron or flow of charge. Current measured in Ampere and its symbol is A
Power:
Power is defined as the rate energy () is transformed or transferred over time. We measure power in units of joules/second, also known as watts.
Voltage ,current and power all three will be calculated by this formula,
P= V x I
P- power, V- voltage, I- current
